Removal of passivation method for lithium thionyl chloride battery ER34615
Lithium thionyl chloride battery has the characteristics of high voltage, high capacity and long storage time, and is widely used in the fields of electronics, meter, communication, aviation and so on.
Voltage model: ER34615
Open circuit voltage: 3.66V
Load voltage: 56 ohms> 3.25V
The above is the standard for voltage detection when new batteries leave the factory. If the load voltage of the battery does not reach the detection standard, the battery may be passivated and needs to be activated by discharge.
ER34615 90 days after leaving the factory, when the battery is passivated, use constant resistance discharge to eliminate the passivation, the specific method is as follows:
1. A 33-ohm resistor is connected in series with the positive and negative electrodes of the battery. After discharging for 30 minutes, remove the resistor and let the battery stand for 2 hours.
2. Use a 56-ohm resistor to test whether the load voltage of the battery is greater than 3.25V. If the load voltage is above 3.25V, it means that the passivation is eliminated.
3. If the passivation has not been eliminated after the first battery activation, it indicates that the passivation of the battery is serious. You can use the same method to discharge it for another 60 minutes. It is now tested whether the load voltage of the battery reaches 3.25V or more. eliminate.
The above is to use resistance discharge to eliminate battery passivation, only suitable for a small number of batteries. If the battery needs to be activated and discharged in large quantities, it can be solved by the constant current discharge method of the battery special test instrument.
Note: If the battery's open circuit voltage and load voltage value meet the factory test standard 90 days after leaving the factory, it means that the battery is lightly passivated and does not affect the normal use of the battery.
